[Excerpts] SAN BENITO — Police arrested a woman who identified herself as a Santa Rosa police officer on an assault family violence charge Friday, a San Benito police spokesman said. Mary Hernandez of San Benito was charged with the misdemeanor offense, police Lt. Martin Morales said. Police believe Hernandez hit her teenage son several times in the head, Morales said. The alleged assault resulted in physical wounds to his face... When the officer arrived at the home, he tried to interview Hernandez’s husband, Morales said. But Hernandez deterred the officer during that part of the investigation, he said. [Full article here]

SANTA ROSA POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED

[Excerpts] Action 4 News confirmed the arrest of a Santa Rosa Police Officer inside her very own home in San Benito on Friday night... Police told Action 4 News, Hernandez allegedly punched her 15-year-old son repeatedly throughout his entire body... "To put it in small words, she lost it,” Lieutenant Martin Morales told Action 4 News. “A small family issue between two brothers got out of hand. It resulted in something that could have been handled in a different way." Hernandez was arrested and charged with assault for family violence and her bond was set at $2000. Police said she bailed out the very same night. Santa Rosa Police told Action 4 News they will launch an internal investigation into the incident.They said the chief and the investigators will then determine what, if any, action will be taken against Hernandez.
