Even though he was charged with assault and endangerment to a child, accused of "beating" his estranged wife, leaving bruises and scratches, and in some undisclosed way also hurting his one-year-old daughter, Elsa Police Officer Ismael Gomez has had his charges of assaulting his wife dropped and is back to work. (His wife, who is separated from him, says this wasn't the first time he's hit her although it is the first time she's called police.) The district attorney says Gomez still has the pending felony charge of endangerment to a child, but if the bruises around his wife's neck and her cuts didn't keep him off the job, probably beating a baby won't either.
